About Us

The Union of Taxation Employees Local 00013 represents members of the Canada Revenue Agency that work in the Toronto Centre Tax Service Office and the Toronto Call Centre. Besides being a member of the Union of Taxation Employees, you are also a member of the Public Service Alliance of Canada. Where the UTE only represents those members who are associated with Income Tax in the various offices, being a member of the PSAC allows members an opportunity to meet other Federal Government civil servants and also those who are affiliated with the PSAC who are not members of the Public Service. All members who wish to be a part of the union are welcome to contact any Local executive members or stewards with their interest.

All members of the UTE Local 00013 executive are automatically Stewards. In addition to the executive, other members of the Local can be named as Stewards as well. Stewards are named subsequently after the Annual General Meeting, which takes place in April of each year and also can be named throughout the year. The job of a Steward can be a variety of different tasks. These include handling grievances, serving on different committees, representing the Local on the PSAC Area Council and informing the other members of upcoming issues. Elections are held triennially, taking place every three years.

Local 00013 is also affiliated with the Public Service Alliance of Canada. You are eligible for all benefits offered by both the UTE and PSAC as members of the union. Your representatives on the PSAC Area Council include: Ryan Ward (President) and Iain MacFarlane (Vice-President) and three others that are named each year. The Area Council meets every month on the second Wednesday of each month in the PSAC Ontario Boardroom (90 Eglinton Avenue East, Suite 608) @ 6 pm.
